Three hundred Muslims have taken refuge in a local Buddhist temple, thousands have fled, and the count of dead and injured is still not clear. In March there were similar riots

Tenzin Sherab, 31, died at the scene. His body was confiscated by Chinese police but returned to his family the next day. Phayul reports that Sherab had spoken about China's human rights abuses in Tibet a few days before his immolation. "We can no longer bear to live under China's constant torture and repression," he reportedly told his friends. He is survived by his parents and four siblings. At least 118 Tibetan
