Post Rohatsu Notes

With palms together

Good Morning Everyone,

Rohatsu sesshin resolved with the smashing luncheon cooking during the Village Inn. If anyone has cinema of the ceremonies or of the group afterwards, greatfully email the single or dual of them to me. Sesshin was attended by fourteen of us: 4 from the American River Sangha in Sacramento, CA., dual from Both Sides/No Sides Sangha in El Paso, the single from Deming, NM, as well as the rest from Las Cruces, NM.

Ceremonies included 3 Kie Sanbo Tokudo as well as the single Jukai Tokudo: congratulations to Susan Hakushi Beckett (student of Priest Kajo), Heather Kishin Ogston (student of Priest Komyo), Kathi Ryugin Sorenson, as well as John Shoji Sorenson (students of Priest Daiho).

A highlight of the sesshin was the somewhat unorthodox activity. We each wrote out the explanation upon the Dharma name. If we were not yet in possession of such the name, participants were asked to consider what they competence think their name would be. It seemed this exercise was deeply in contact with as well as emotionally moving. Silence was maintained for the many part, though it did take the slap of the kyosaku upon the Roshis desk once to have the point.

Our Tenzo, Rev. Bobby Kankin Byrd, did the superlative pursuit addressing the needs of the sangha. We usually listened the single yelp when he forsaken an egg upon the building as well as the food was delicious.

My target during this sesshin was to stay out of the leadership purpose as much as possible, allowing my means Kansu, Rev. Komyo, to take the lead. He did the terrific pursuit as well as we am very gratified with the altogether outcome. One of the things we did learn coming out of this knowledge was the procedure book, the Shingi, competence be the good thought for the Order. we have been slowly building this, though we can see we need to have it the priority.

May each of us be the good fortune in the star today.

!

Yours,Zen knowledge for daily living.
