A Simple Person

With palms together

Good Morning Everyone,

Zen asks we to be the simple person. Matsuoka-roshi says. It asks we to disregard notions about yourself, about others as well as about life which we might have acquired prior to we began seeking the law of Zen. (p.398, The Kyosaku)

For Matsuoka, the simple chairman is one who has let go of what he was, what he knows, as well as what he needs. He is the chairman who is just present, open, empty, as well as receptive to the teachings, which movement from him, from his teacher, as well as from the Buddha.

This is the dont know mind. The thoughts of one who sees clearly, though does not cling to what he sees. Very difficult this is for many of us. We wish to reason onto the understanding. We wish to discuss as well as debate as well as analyze. As we contend in the south, we wish to uncover ourselves. We might ask ourselves why.

The law of Zen is in living Zen. It is in the humanity voiced by the every day lives. To handle in shrill as well as assertive ways reflects the thoughts which is needy. To handle in ways which have been hurtful reveals the chairman suffering. As we practice, we proceed to see the chairman we are. We should not run or hide from this person, though rather entice him for tea. In the routine of getting to know ourselves, practice good care as well as forgiveness. We cannot be these toward others though being these toward ourselves.

We do not get Zen from books. We get Zen from life. Zen books have been beneficial pointers, though the path forked to contingency be walked. To put it simply, transport guides have been not travel. My clarity is the secret to the Zen life is in the willingness to receive. As Matsuoka-roshi quoted Nan-in, first we contingency dull your cup.
